Confronting conflict is the key to self-preservation. On a concluding note what happens in workplace stays at work and don’t carry it along with you at home as you cannot control it. (Anderson,2015).This will eliminate confrontation and resolve conflict simultaneously. Resolving conflict will give better understanding, improved group cohesion and realign their self-knowledge. The key to self-preservation is to make sure while resolving a conflict not to get emotionally involved and avoid controlling everything. Choosing which conflicts to face and ignore by taking the right person test, what’s in it for me test and worth test will alleviate stress from conflict. Setting up a personal perspective will assist in resolving the conflict. Instead of confronting you can resort to resolving the conflict. According to Wesley (2015), being prepared to confront a conflict is the key to self-preservation. Conflict can be eliminated by setting up clear standards of behaviour, clear communication and listening skills and choosing right time of involvement. Confronting a conflict is not dependant on a sole person or department but it is a teamwork. In an opiniated world encompassed with competent and enthusiasm, conflict is everywhere and in many forms and workplace culture can be one of the contributing factor towards conflict.Ĭonfronting a conflict in a workplace is a life skill that everyone should learn no matter you have to deal with it at work or anywhere. It emerges from mistakes, inadvertence or misunderstanding. “10% of conflict is due to difference of opinion and 90% is due to wrong tone of voice”. Conflict arises when individuals come together with differences in their vision, values and communication.
